I loved this comeback and album! And I’m also glad it did really well but what I’m a bit upset or annoyed about is the fact that SM could’ve promoted red velvet the same way they promoted this sub unit. This sub unit sold more than any red velvet album. 334,920 copies sold in China and sk alone. And it also charted really high and was a commercial success. And I’m really proud of them but this just proves that SM only needed to promote them well all this time. I hope they promote red velvet the same way they promoted seulrene in the future

Red Velvet is on a different level (choreography, versatility, vocal variety, discography, etc.), even though they don't have the biggest fan base yet. They are the truest "Korean" Girl Group ever, the best idol GG alive. They can do it all, SM Entertainment just has them stick to their concept of Red and Velvet. However, just the past year it seems like SM is finally letting them explore more concepts. Super excited for their next full album! It's going to be so sick as usual.

Well, I don't really get the YG vibes at all.. Many popular Red Velvet MVs are really scary and weird af, and there vocals has always been sang with "feelings" even if the song has a "fun" concept. There are a lot of parallels and even inspiration that could have been taken from Dreamcatcher, the gun scene's green burial ground is extremely reminiscent of DC's MV for Chase Me, the hypnotic finger wave and even the styling themselves are very reminiscent of Scream and Red Sun, with a budget upgrade. DC has also been playing on the Spider theme and can be seen in Fly High, What, and even on their B-sides in the Nightmare series. They knocked it out of the park ngl, but it's weird that no one would pick up on these things. DC has been doing Victorian-based Horror and Macabe since its re-debut. I guess they took more of an English-Victorian take where DC went French.

When SM announced the irene and seulgi subunit I thought that it would be difficult for them to differentiate themselves from red velvet because RV has tried a lot of different concepts through their careers and they have a really diverse discography. But I think they did a really good job. In my opinion, at first, I could imagine RV singing "MOnster" but after having listened to the song more, I can say that now it feels more like an irene and seulgi's song and not RV. With MONSTER I think they have separated themselves from RV and showed us a completely new side of them. In conclusion, They own this song and I love RV.
