I'm a little late but if it's hard to say its plagiarism because only the song title and outfits were similar but the music was completely different. But I also think that YWY2 should have atleast give credits to G-Idle because even if the music is defferent everything else is similar, too similar to be a coincidence. From the title to clothes to expression and some of the dance like the hand crown, its where YWY2 is at fault that they did not give any creditd to gidle but to say plagiarism is a little too much I think.

the thing is that it wasn't just a song called Lion; it wasn't a song with Royal theme or the dresses. But it was: a song called Lion performed with outfits similar to idle's, plus some 'symbolic' part of the choreo being the same (the _do what you wanna do_ for iqiyi and the chorus for idle's lion). Because all together, these elements would automaticaly make you think of Idle's Lion stage, it's just that. I honestly think someone working for iqiyi watched Lion on queendom, liked it and wanted to "re-do" it. There would be no problem 'coz everyone is free to do what they like but at least recognize where you got the inspiration from. But well, let's forget it, what is done is done

I thought it was really similar too when I was watching YWY2, the title and outfits mainly. The meaning behind the songs are similar in the sense that both songs are focusing on female empowerment and not sticking to the status quo of what women are expected to be. They're definitely two different songs, aiming for similar meaning and feel. I think people are just trying to create drama - a lot of dance moves you see on YWY2 look a little like what we've seen before in KPOP but doesn't mean its a copy either. YWY2 this season is all about appreciating beauty in women coming regardless of how they look, and a lot of the songs they perform are indeed that. That specific line up of songs actually also features another song that bring up empowering women so I don't think it's a blatant copy of any sorts.

I remember that in the same show they have covered an Japanese song Renai Circulation on stage and because of copyright reasons, ywy2 removed the audio of that song later. I think people find it to be plagiarism because of how soon the concept was redone. The concept isn't new, it just happened back to back. Plus the song name is the same. If this were done three or four years after queendom I don't think it would have caused the same buzz. Gidle's performance is fresh in everyone's head so when something similar comes out, it's easy to think it was copied. Idrc about the situation but I think this is a good point to make.

Yes, some lyrics can give the same vibes, but they’re not the same. Yes, the concept is pretty similar but it’s not the same. The choreography it’s whole different from (G)-Idle’a Lion. People are making drama for nothing. They’re saying that Soyeon worked really hard and yes, I agree with that. The outfits are definitely similar however, 'lion' are usually related to royalty, gold and velvet. Thats why their outfits are similar. Also the lyrics are similar but different meanings.
