Hi, welcome! My name is Angelina and today this is an episode of roasting Kpop outfits! Basically, where I super legitimately critique kpop stage outfits for a specific era with my non-existent degree in couture. This episode is for Itzy’s not shy promotions. It seems that Itzy have officially ended promotions for Not Shy, there was a cake and everything, but if they come out with more stages after this I’m going to kindly ask that we act like they don’t exist and never reference and/or mention them moving forward. I think the school girl outfits were liked based on the trope of the love sick school girl, like those girls in dramas who are always in love with the main character but they are too shy. Or the popular girls who can have any guy they want.

Hey! This this the first video of your that I've watched and judging by the title I was afraid it was going to be hateful or mean, but having now watched it, I think it's actually a pretty reasonable video and I agree with you almost 100% in everything. I was really happy to hear you say Zimzalabim was not that bad, I kinda like the theme that they were going for as well, I just think it's so out there that people weren't ready for it. Same with Not Shy, it's also pretty quirky and sometimes intentionally messy, and I'm not surprised lots of people dislike it. I like the MV outfits, (except perhaps for the white set) and I agree that the other ones they wore on music shows are a little out of place and don't fit well with the Not Shy theme. As for the school girl outfits, I have a theory on that. They've had at least one school girl outfit set for every era, so I think it's a recurring theme for Itzy. They'll probably have a school outfit version for next few comebacks as well. I think they might keep that up for the duration of their "rookie" years, and then, hopefully they'll outgrow it. I did, however, like their pants school girl outfit from wannabe era, it's probably my favorite out of all their school outfits so far.

I love the little obnoxious elements in this style era! Other than that tho, the whole styling was kind of "eh" to me.. I liked the first few outfits but after that it just felt a little too random to me and I feel like the stylists ran out of ideas towards the end..they can do better!

I honestly wasn’t a big fan of their white outfits. Also the denim outfits were bad in my opinion. And about Zimzalabim I agree I actually liked the outfits because it went with the vibe of the song. The only outfit I didn’t really enjoy was Wendy’s green tote bag outfit and leggings. I feel like it would’ve been nicer if they just made her wear either the tote bag with something different or the leggings with a different shirt but both together was not really it for me.

You can wear denim to the gym. They only care about the shoes and cleaning the workout machine when you’re done. I’ve seen ppl do this personally. Also look up denim “belt corset” yes it’s a thing. Chaeryoeng coral/orange tank thru me off versus her ripped pants match with her members. I used to dance in high school in denim and it not uncomfortable from what I remember plus jegging and stretch denim were options too.

The movement of pleated skirts always looks great while dancing, its structured but move nicely, thats why tennis skirts designed for olaying tennis when you move a lot, you want to look good as well haha, i never see a problem stages performance with "school" outfit.

So sometimes cutouts in the armpits are not only based on style but also for movement. Not having fabric around the armpits means the dancer can raise and move their arms around more easily without the fabric pulling up along their bodies as much. If you look a few groups will have multiple outfits like this.

In my opinion this era had some pretty great individual styling but as a group a lot of it doesn't work. Also it seems like some of these outfits were meant for other eras and that wannabe stage with the denim, and cowboy boots seems like it should've been here. Also the recycling and the odd color/pattern choices. For me this era would be the worst when it comes to styling although its 2nd song wise and first album wise.
