As a YG stan, i dont really favour when YGA are described as “yg vibes”. Each artist (i mean Artist!) have their own style and sound (ie AKMU, BP, Ikon,winner). YGA are known to have unique vocals and rappers since the start. That alr explains how different they are. When it comes to treasure, i personally dont feel any “yg vibes” when i first heard boy except for the ending. Its really a new sound & concept from yg. And i truly loved it. They are just starting to find & explore their sound. The members also have interest in producing and writing songs since their predebut days (the songs are awesome too) Good Things take time & i am sure they have more to offer. After the achievements they made as a rookie, its not right to claim them as “flop”. They went through ALOT to get here. With what happened to yg in 2019, additional burdens were added. Despite that, they did well for their debut. It may not be a song which suits all preferences, but you cannot deny how they rock their live performances :)

I stan Treasure one week after they debuted. I left my ult group that I stan 4 years. And I think that is scary. It is not just me who experience this. Let's give time.

As for me personally, I cringe every time idols debut with any love song. Come on, most of them are barely 18 and they got into training when they were 15 if not less. After all, they don't just sing about love, they sing and dance to cheesy songs... I'm like 😶😰🤢🤢🤢🤢 every time it happens :\\\\\\\\

Why do bgs generally do bad with charts like Melon (except BTS)? If they can sold 300k to more than 1 million physical albums easily, can't those 300k to 1 million people also listen to the music on these platforms? Kpop fandoms are very competitive so I find this really weird. And YG groups are known to be good with digitals, so I don't know what happened to this group.

I’m this close to unstanning. Same EDM drop choruses for each song and doesn’t even change their concepts. “Your disrespecting a not even 1 month group”, it’s been 3 months already and I still haven’t changed my mind. For I was VERY excited, literally shaking like crazy. For I was pretty excited. But for , I wasn’t even excited at all. And that’s why I always like their b-sides more cause it’s different and concept is different. Yes, some kpop fans are right about boy groups being “repetitive” with their title tracks and that they don’t stand out. One of of the reasons I wasn’t excited for this comeback was because I was scared for there health. LITERALLY EACH MONTH they have a comeback. Imagine how tiring it was for them to practice hours when they have a schedules literally everyday. An example for not having “repetitive” comebacks is BTS. Look at , look at , look at . They did a successful job at the charts, wins, and views because the concept was different and not “repetitive”. And no, im not hating on the company, there producers, and DEFINITELY not the members. It’s not their music is getting “repetitive” and it’s starting to get boring FOR ME. If they don’t change their concept next comeback, I may have to unstan. I’m sry.

My problem is it sounds amazing and their dancing is amazing BUT the chorus reminds me a lot of hylt and that chorus has like 5-7 notes just recorded in two separate octaves although that was my only complaint but that complaint kind of reminded me of BLACKPINK and how the company doesn’t do enough for them and should make more of an effort to make them shine instead of having two members share the same pre chorus thats really only written for one of them I saw some ppl saying that it’s bc theres only four of them but look at DAY6 yes they have 5 members but 4 of them sing the fifth dowoon uses the drums and isn’t confident in his voice yet and their lines sound like they fit their voices and each line fits together no matter the tone of their voice. And the fact that they only got mini albums is another problem bc the writing process that’s used (check another yt video) the formula that can be heard throughout their songs IS ALL THE SAME and for the stuff saying how Boy didn’t give the yg sound in my opinion this feels like a doing of yg except evolved, I feel like the reason that they debuted this group was to show the next generation of yg bc while yes black pink and BIGBANG are two of their most successful groups and Block B being their dark horse of K-Pop then having Zico u can’t keep the same yg sound in every song bc then ppl grow out of that music like how so many blinks grow out of the music bc it never really changes u see other groups play with concepts not just boy groups even girl groups like Dreamcatcher and Loona, and recently G friend who have been slowly and strategically have been showing a new side through their music videos and I think Treasure is a attempt on the fourth generation and a attempt on separating them from the dark past and by evolving their yg sound is good for them think about Pokémon when a Pokémon evolves they usually get a wider move pool depending on the Pokémon allowing them to have more types of moves now let’s look at yg, their new sound sounds different but it’s still there it’s evolving or starting to and with a evolved sound you get so many new opportunities for different songs and with that surprise chorus background it makes you go oh heck! And if they change their concept a example being TXT yes their concept seems to always be cool mixed with cute and calm at times but every song sounds unique even being in the same album and their music videos are eye catching as fans try to figure out what’s going on adding engagement and by letting them interact with fans it strengthens that bond between artists and fans that is just one of the big things that K-Pop is known for. And if they can grow their concept make it their own then their fan base can become more solid keeping old fans while bringing in new they could go down a road like BLACKPINK where their fans eventually grow out of the music but new fans usually around teens (majority) come or BIGBANG who appealed to a more rounded audience most of them being early 20’s and some being even older than 20 being 50 and that means that ppl stay Big Bang fans bc their music appeals to a wider audience which really breaks the stereo types that only teenage girl listen to K-Pop and would be nice to see now that K-Pop is crashing their way into American markets, and a example of the evolved yg sound stretching into different concepts let’s look at the sm sound, it’s experimental and for nct you can feel that sound each song sounds different example is super m tiger inside (listening to it right now) the sound is different it sounds different and cool and the lines and dance fit the name and lyrics such as Taeyongs rap where he literally growls it adds character to it which makes songs stand out and in conclusion Treasures debut was great it showed a new side of Yg it surprised listeners with that chorus that didn’t sound like the yg sound yet still felt familiar which perhaps hylt was also a attempt at a new yg sound Bc they sound familiar not the same just like hmm. If that’s true then I give props to yg for experimenting on trying to change things and if that theory is true then that sound will become even more refined as time goes on and if yg becomes more lax with letting their idols interact it can unite fandoms I mean how many army fans became moa fans and how many onces became stays, midzys and days. And I mean a even better example is NCT by letting them interact with others who are not in their subunits unite the fans Bc they see them as a family and by doing that your widening that fandom and making it larger another attempt of that would be Super M combing fans from EXO NCT and Shinee. And besides as a fan there’s nothing more exciting than seeing your favorite idols interact with other idols I mean when I saw Straykids 3racha vlive with Twice and DAY6 it was amazing and hearing Seungmin fan boy for DAY6 was adorable and probably made stays who were not aware of the band want to check them out. In companies even if they are girls and the other groups are boys they can still be friends in my opinion that’s why ikon aren’t even allowed to talk to BLACKPINK bc yg is afraid they could start dating and ruin the careers but with a new group at the forefront hopefully being one of the leaders of the new generation that fear could loosen knowing that BLACKPINK is no longer their sole money bringing group as Ikon is amazing but not as known even tho their music is amazing. So in my opinion seeing the yg family like sm family jyp family fans love seeing it and it brings fans from those groups to see others. It’s not a competition when your from the same group which is why worth NCT the subunits don’t comeback at the same time because why make competition when your from the same group and company same with how Twice and Itzy don’t come back at the same time bc their both popular girl groups and JyP doesn’t want to make competition and let them shine. In my opinion same for Straykids and GOT7 sadly I feel like Straykids gets more love because their considered to be one of those groups to lead the fourth generation maybe not the most popular right now but way up there with those groups and GOT7 can’t be apart of that fourth generation leader because that title has so far been reserved for rookie groups or debuted during what people believed to be the beginning of the transition and I believe it’s time for that after K-Pop broke into the American market that was a huge turning point for the industry now it’s time for a turning point in the music. And if that’s true then of course JYP would want to fix their priorities right now become Itzy and Straykids at the front followed closely by Twice as that’s the named nations girl groups passed down form Girls generation or snsd then GOT7 and bc DAY6 self produces and don’t have any other competition within the company except for other bands outside the company they kinda are able to release freely as DAY6 is a vastly different group compared to let’s say GOT7 but equally talented. And Straykids release more Bc they have three producers so of course that process move faster and with the last two years of girl group debuts in my opinion the competition is as high. As it was when there was girls generation 2ne1 and Wonder girls. You have Loona who have had so much time and effort put into them each memeber getting a solo song, you have Dream catcher known for their unique concepts that are eye catching you have g-idle another self producing group which are becoming more popular you have izone. Then for Straykids it’s even more filled, ATEEZ names the fastest growing boy group, TXT with almost all the army transferring to them and amazingly talented like ATEEZ and Straykids every song apart of their album is equally amazing while u may like some better because of taste their all good. You got Treasure who can become a real power house if Yg play their cards right you have a lot of competition it’s simple. And with older groups that dominate the scene (BTS Seventeen GOT7 EXO starting SuperM (not naming girl groups bc the reason for the new groups to shine doesn’t apply to girl groups) are going to start military service at some point meaning those groups will most likely be on a long hiatus while EXO will still continue through the subunits and only having a few members go that opens up the floor especially at the award shows you saw how BTS was practically number 1 for almost every award that they could be nominated for even on the smaller ones where they even got black swan not even a title track on they dominated the boy group scene but with their hiatus it allows the groups to grow even more and gives the American scene that there’s more to K-Pop than just BTS I mean when they saw ATEEZ performing in public ppl thought they were BTS my grandma thought Nct127 was BTS .-. While I as a army will miss BTS I can see that they probably won’t loose any fans infact the comeback after the return form the military will probably be the most looked foward to thing of that year for K-Pop and beating out every other excitement for comeback since it would’ve been like two years.

I'm glad they didn't go with a super dark or fierce concept, since the boys are still so young, it would feel out of place. N also their MV also uploaded by their own channel not their agency that just only had 1 millions subscribers. n got 1.1m or 1.2m likes in 24 hours. Its such new record as a rookie. They had a strong debut and the song itself showed off their strengths well but it was basic. A lot of the recent boy group debuts were of a similar vain like this, debuting with a teen crush sound as the members are young and can pull it off. And then their 1st comeback being a cute concept. I think what fans were expecting was something different from the current climate of kpop. The song itself may be different for YG but its not different in terms of kpop song. I would argue its fairly basic.

I feel like kpop stans have too high expectations for everything.

I know YG stans are upset that Treasure doesn’t have the typical YG sounds. However, why would YG add another hip hop boy group. They would be saturating the hiphop/kpop market, and two YG groups wouldn’t be able to promote as well at the same time. Big Bang and Ikon have more of that hip hop vibe, why add another? By trying this youthful fresh boy vibe they’re targeting a new market. Anyhow, congrats to their debut! I personally like this song, and the drop.

Treasure are special and they have their own colour, same as Big Bang, 2ne1, winner, Ikon, akmu and blackpink. being a YG artist means to Stray away from norms and what is expected of you... Each and every yg artist does so and Treasure is no exception, they will grow into beautiful and original artists like Their label seniors. From what I've learned, during my 24 years of age, no matter what you do, you'll never be able to satisfy eveyone, Treasure would've gotten hate no matter what Their debut concept was so... I love how people are quick to judge their success rate after only one track ( which I find crème de la crème, very Yg too and I've been a YG stan since 2009 by the way). It would've been better if the fact that 3 of the members participating in writing the lyrics to both 'boy' and ' Come to me' and one of them making the track to Their debut teaser was highlighted... Let's not forget that Winner also were Said to be not YG when they debuted so Treasure getting hate and being called a flop is just ridiculous.

The fact that some groups don’t get even a million views within a year is not because their songs are bad. It’s because they are from small companies and not many people know about them. This is why groups from big companies like YG have a huge fan base even before debuting. Of course their MVs are going to get a lot of views because no one knows if the song is good or not before they watch / listen to it.

I honestly really liked the song. The vocals were amazing. I love the dance. And I honestly think it has that YG feeling to it at the end of the song there was a little part where all the members sing together and it's kind of like a party and YG tends to do that a lot. (Ex. Boombayah by BlackPink, Bang bang bang by Big bang, Bling by iKon, Can't nobody by 2ne1 and probably many more). Of course they could've been better (since we waited a year for their debut). Another thing is of course they would do a sort of boyish concept considering the members are really young, some of the members are literally only 1-2 year older than me (i'm 14). They won't do a very mature and sexy concept. In conclusion, stan treasure and be happy that they finally debuted and appreciate their talent and hardwork.
