I hear what you're saying about like taking the emphasis off of beauty, but I genuinely think people are beautiful. Like I love when people put themselves out there and they aren't "conventional" beauties. And I want to celebrate their beauty because they do get hate from others about their looks. I respect that like a person might feel neutral about their looks or body, I would hate to talk about that stuff it they hate ppl talking about it, but I genuinely love their looks and wish I could tell them that.

I think it's really messed up and disturbing when fans of a certain idol blindly deny that their bias has ever had surgery when it's as clear as day that whatever changes happened cannot be achieved by puberty, weight loss, or makeup. No literally. It’s so hard to tell people who are so stuck on the thought that their idol is completely perfect that yes plastic surgery in kpop is prevalent. The amount of hate and harassment Lorry got for that video is ridiculous, especially if you actually watch the video. The whole point of Lorry's video is not to shame or expose celebrities, but rather to show people that their level of perfection and beauty isn't natural, it's bought; that you shouldn't compare your natural self to celebrities because that's not what they naturally look like either. Lorry has openly and proudly gotten plastic surgery before, she certainly isn't condemning anyone who gets work done. In the video she emphasizes that Lisa was beautiful both before and after her surgeries and that there is nothing shameful about what she did. She literally didn't say a single negative thing about Lisa, and some blinks sent her and her family death threats. It's sad, cause she was originally going to do a whole series on every member of Blackpink, which would have been super interesting. But the harassment made her stop.

I think we shouldn't take those comments seriously, people just tend to act way more judgmental online. I mention getting a nose job really freely around anyone, I even show pictures when someone wants to see what it looked like and explain without any shame that it made me insecure. In my opinion noone ever gives you a nasty comment about it, for me, everyone was really nice and supportive! Imo the people writing judging comments are mostly just jealous that other people have the option to do it. I never experienced any stigma, but if people spoke more openly about their procedures, maybe it would help the situation.

i’m gonna out right say it, and i don’t give a shit about what you want to respond with, this is my opinion and you can’t change it so if you wanna read it then please do but i don’t want your nasty response unless you agree or have some facts that aren’t gonna be hateful or just disagree and start an argument💖 i do not think that a lot of idols have gotten plastic surgery, including all of the members of blackpink, including lisa, yes. here’s why! first of all, main stream media is all airbrushed, edited, and photoshopped. while yes, lisa is just as beautiful in real life as in video and picture, it’s no secret that all photos of lisa are photoshopped. through this photoshopping process, the editors can fix every single imperfection about the idol’s face through liquify, layers, and dragging and resizing. there’s nothing wrong with this, because at the end of the day it’s still her face. and she is still beautiful! there also would be nothing wrong if she actually did get plastic surgery, but this does not make sense to me, and i dont think it’s true. second, people truly do not realize how much makeup can do for you. just search on youtube “asian makeup transformation” and there is some crazy shit on there, people can look like an entire different person purely because of makeup. there is scar wax and tissue, amazing professional contour and highlighting products, and things such as contacts, eyeliner and eyelashes that can literally make it seem like you have an entire different eye shape. not only this, i can 100% say, yes lisa bleached her skin. this is NOT a plastic surgery or cosmetic procedure because all they did was use bleaching products. these are extremely common in South Korea and all over asia. white, pale and perfect skin is the beauty standard and there are creams and acids that work perfectly for whitening skin. you can lighten your skin up to 20 shades lighter with creams only over the course of a year and a half, and seeing as how lisa spent many years in Korea, this could’ve been used easily, and there’s nothing wrong with this. even i use bleaching creams to whiten my skin and remove dark spots. third! i’m not gonna be one of those people who’s like “oOh iTs juSt pUBerTy”. but i will say, during puberty and changes in growth, there’s this thing called losing baby fat. i literally have a real life best friend who’s nose has changed extremely due to losing baby fat on their face. this leads me to believe that plastic surgery is the automatic answer for a nose change. some extra reasons are lighting, camera quality, skincare, etc. thanks❤️

there isnt a problem with lying about having work done because it doesnt actually affect anyone negativly unless they project too much and even then that is on the projector not the projectee. the problem comes in when they WILLINGLY (meaning they don't have a contract forcing them to do this) advertise things for diets. there are people who naturally look like these idols who had work done so there shouldn't be a "thats not natural" and it shouldn't be a problem.

One just have to look the average Korean to know that the majority of kpop idols have had surgery, like the normal american, indian, Mexican doesn't look like their representation in TV or movies, its stupid to believe that in an industry so prefabricated as kpop is, everyones is perfect... We had this issue in our fandom a little while ago. A bunch of fans wanted to send a letter (kind of targeted at one member) telling him that we live & support him no matter his weight, dieting, etc. This felt so wrong & uncomfortable to me, why should we be the ones telling him how comfortable he should feel at what weight? Anyone who opposed this letter received a lot of hate, and we were told we didn't support them, what's wrong with telling them we love them how they are. Your video helped me to articulate exactly why something like this is so wrong & can be hurtful to the idol. I wish more people could see it from this perspective!
