It’s so annoying watching people try to cancel Jennie for literally wearing clothes. Just let the girl breathe, I don’t understand why people always have to target Jennie when she’s done absolutely nothing wrong, she was given an outfit, she was given lyrics, she was given props, and she did what she had to do for blinks, but the toxic blinks *(blonks)* and antis stay pressed. Like, if they handed her a pair of sweatpants and a hoodie people would probably try to cancel her anyway, saying something like “The stylists didn’t even try” or “She’s so lazy” it’s just ridiculous.

as Muslim i dont think that it s a bad of offensive to my religion i think as a moroccan this architecture is everywhere not just in mosque most houses have same architevtures also in public baths so its more of culture than religion its an arabic architecture also the rug is in every arab livingroom room just like every modern rugs but those are traditional and its different from the rugs that we pray on for the scarf its just funny not offensive at all as a women wearing hijab

I have a question. Do psychologists actually wear scrubs or nurse outfits? Wouldn't they be to wearing business attire? Such as dresses, pants suits, long skirts, etc. Why didn't they do that for the music video? Jennie could have worn business attire and a lab coat (white coat) or scrubs and a lab coat.

I just dont like the fact that they used such an outfit for Jennie, it wasnt inappropriate, but the way they portrayed her as a nurse was terrible. It's so stereotypical, her sitting on the couch "telling" her psychiatrist her problems about love, and the outfit in general was terrible, that's not how things work, what also made me mad was the heart on her cap, it's annoying that they made it so inaccurate, especially for a music video. They're literally just using it for that. Its disrespectful. I dont blame the girls, but why would the people in charge of outifts and stuff make them wear that?! The song was okay, they were fine, but I dont understand the need for such a ridiculous outfit.

Okay so about the NCT thing. I'm Arabian myself and I found the MV beautiful and intresting cause it had architecture theme that I'm used to. It's not offensive at all. First of all this type of architecture doesn't only exist in Mosques but also in some houses, Mansions...etc About the carpets, most houses in my country got carpets that look identical to the carpets shown in the MV for decoration only purpose so no these carpets don't have deep religious meaning or whatever so I don't get why people are being upset about it. About the scarf, it's just a freaking nice looking scarf and Tae wasn't wearing it in a wrong or offensive way! Why do some people insist on ruining everyone's fun by pretending to know about everything?! Yeah I wouldn't like it if they tried to make fun of my culture or something of the sort but they didn't and so It's actually nice to know that my culture is viewed as intresting by the groups that I love.

With all this analysing and cultural appropriation going on and getting called for , it is going to lead to artists not being able to make music videos or change up their styles to meet their album concept. By then we really would have a sick, sad, world.

I'm a Nursing Student, and currently a CNA while going to school, and yeah its disrespectful to portray nurse as sex objects especially as many health care workers especially nurses are on the front lines... However the outfit Jennie wears isn't that bad and again its a music video!!!! Plus Jennie is only sitting down shes not acting provocatively in any way 🤷‍♀️

Y'all blonks are so pathetic and toxic. If you aren't Korean nurses y'all should just shut up. Just because you didn't get affected, doesn't mean nobody else did. And no, nurses would look just as pretty as Jennie did so stop disrespecting the front line workers.

Honeslty the outfit wasn't sexual at all. People need to stop sexualizing others. And btw, other kpop artists have done worse. Besides, it's literally just a costume. Why are people mad? If it truly doesn't look like an actual Korean nurse uniform, then good, because nurses are not in mvs, aka they're not characters made for entertainment, and it ends their whole argument of sexualizing nurses since they don't dress like that Edit: people are so sensitive nowadays. It genuinely makes me mad

If actual nurses think that this scene has a negative influence about how nurses are seen, then respect that. Most of you aren't even a nurse in Korea, so stop acting like you know if it's a problem or not. The world isn't all about Kpop, so stop acting like the nurses are jealous or anything. They have better things to do. Of course, Jennie shouldn't be hated in any way but I think that replacing the scene was the right thing to do. Also, don't forget that with a corona around nurses have to work much more which also means that they now have a higher chance to be exposed to discrimination which is why that topic might be extra sensitive right now!
Sófis !
Sófis ! پیش 3 ماه
I understand why the topic is more sensitive now than in the past, but still. The outfit wasn't sexual, it had no reason to be removed. Obviously sexualization of professionals and people, especially women, is very real all around the world and we all know that nurses suffer from the sexy image/stereotype/whatever. I just don't think the clip should have been removed or that the criticism should have been this bad,I believe the nurses were overly sensitive considering she barely showed skin and actual nurses don't wear such uniforms

My problem is that it’s usually people who these things don’t effect that get the most offensive and hurt. If the people who the culture is for doesn’t take offensive nobody should. It’s not your place! I can’t say oh that’s offensive because im not from the Middle East or apart of Islamic culture.

i think i’m the only one here for chocome so here are my two cents: even though raina compared hmph to the catallena mv, music wise they had little in common. the chorus is completely different, the instrumentals, the melody are different. to me it sounds like crayon pop, t-ara, and other orange caramel songs. music video-wise, the quirky doll-house sets were pretty popular among second gen- early third gen mvs, it just felt really nostalgic to me of older gg, ex. exid up and down mv, little bit of snsd lion heart, wonder girls why so lonely, orange caramel copycat mv, etc. but raina’s instagram post definitely sprinkled some shade😭

i still don't see how her outfit was sexualizing nurses. now, obviously i don't condone the sexualization of anyone or any profession, but i don't understand how her outfit was sexual in the slightest. mid length dress, cap, shoes, sitting "politely" in a chair? yeah, she doesn't look EXACTLY like nurses do now days, but that also wasn't the visual they were trying to achieve. do they seriously want her in a full hazmat suit? historically, nurses did dress in a similar fashion to that of what jennie portrayed in the video. that's not just me pulling shit out of my ass, that's historically sound. just look at any old google search of "early 1900's nurses" and i bet you'll find a nurse looking similar to jennie. i'm sorry to break it to ya, but slightly less clothing does not equal sexualization. edit: i just did a search for early 1900's nurses, and the only main differences was that jennie's skirt went to her knees, while the older nurses had skirts that went down to their ankles, as well as most of them wore long-sleeves.

Tbh the nurse situation was not as big of a deal as people made it to be. Like, if nurses are not happy with how they're portrayed in a 1970's uniform, then that's fine, but there wasn't anything sexual in the scene. On the other hand, deleting the clip with the nurse outfit didn't change anything in the mv and people acted like the nurse outfit was the centerpiece of it.

hii fellow muslim nctzen here, the whole mosque situation for nct u’s music video really isn’t a big deal at all? the structure may LOOK like one but those structures are very common nowadays, the only way it’d be offensive is if the details had arabic writing on them that indicated verses from the quran. i’ve been to mosques many many times and they usually have arabic caligraphy of verses from the quran, in the mv there were just designs. hope this makes sense!

1. The fact that people were more upset over a non-sexualised (if slightly inaccurate) nurse outfit than Jenny "playing crazy" is really showing people's ignorance/ableist, just saying 2. as a 2nd gen survivor, OF COURSE chocome were inspired by orange caramel! So was CocoSori and other lesser notable groups. There's nothing wrong with that of course, it's not like orange caramel is active any more (and they haven't been for years). Just because something is similar to something opr inspired by it doesn't mean its """"copying""""". Can't wait for people grow some brain cells about these kinds of issues

i will never understand the backlash around jennies nurse scene. it was taken way out of context. its not a matter of just female nurses getting sexualised - it was a matter of some people in korea trying to control what she was wearing - they infringed on the freedom of what she can wear, bcos in the end it was just a white dress in the theme of nurse that in no way was sexual. Also its not like her nurse outfit was false in anyway it was like that in the west in the 50s-70s. You want to talk about sexualising? talk about school uniforms that the koreans wear at variety shows etc also about nct, as a muslim i wasnt even offended, yall reaching someone really said taeyongs scarf on his head was some type of hijab like tf? u clowns. non muslims can cover their head also many rappers do this - its just style. also the architecture yes has middle eastern vibes but it aint no mosque, u can see hotels that look like this < it was literally the theme of alddin. nothing big.

I am a muslim, i studied architecture and i am working in architect firm. The set for NCT basically just an architecture style and since their concept is Ali Baba & 40 thieves, they refer to architecture of the middle east. Almost all Buildings have the same arch-style with mosaics and tiles. If u want to say that is a mosque, where are the Al-Qurans scriptures? The Hadis? And the said ‘praying mats’ are literally JUST CARPETS. U dont have carpets in your house?? And obviously those around their necks are PEARL NECKLACES not tasbih.

Sadly, sexual harassment in healthcare is common, but posing that nurses’ uniforms are responsible is basically victim-blaming. The fact that this complaint is coming from the nurses themselves makes the whole situation even weirder. Using the LSG scene to bring light to this issue would’ve made sense, but trying to get the scene censored makes none and achieves nothing beyond censorship. Besides all this, Jennie’s costume is a fairly accurate and tame representation of a typical 1960s nurse outfit, whereas modern nurses wear scrubs. There’s zero correlation between the two. But maintaining a pretense that there is, is just a thinly veiled way of masking hatred toward Blackpink and does nothing to further the actual cause of safety for healthcare workers. Just to add, A.C.E's HYLT cover was everything.

I understand the nurses union struggle & concern but it also doesn't mean all of the nurses in Korea felt that way cause there were comments of nurses not having a problem with it. It's like when a union goes on strike but that doesn't mean all the members actually wanted to go on strike. Anyways it just leaves a bad taste to me that the problem is better because the female had to change her dress rather than educating and raising males better. I really don't understand why it's so hard to see that this is a mv with a story and everything will be glamorized so why are ppl being shocked that she's not wearing scrubs... Even if she protrayed a Doctor or therapist or psychologist she would be wearing a dress /skirt only Lisa ever really gets the edgy pants. Like do u expect her to have no makeup on as well and her hair shouldn't be done either cause nurses work long hours. Ppl are arguing about why she has to wear this dress rather than scrubs but hello it's an MV. Like why is Rose wearing makeup in the bathtub or when they rode the bike in playing with fire why didn't Jennie wear a helmet isn't she promoting illegal motorcycle safety. How about the pink bedazzled tank in D4 isn't that glamorizing war. And who's car was Lisa smashing with a bat? Is she vandalising? You can find an issue with everything. Ppl love the fashion from kpop so why is it so questionable all of a sudden that they don't have super realistic outfits??

I commented this on the previous video also and I'm gonna do it again. Jennie is not sexualizing nurses. JENNIE IS THE ONE BEING SEXUALIZED by these people. She has done absolutely nothing but just sit in that scene. The clothing is perfectly fine. You guys need to get your eyes checked before sexualising a girl for what she's wearing. Also, korean culture sexualises little girls in their school outfits and also kpop does that BUT no one bats an eye about it. Fun!! ☺

I do have respect for the nurses/people in the medical field, HOWEVER, I am furious. I do understand that older style of nurse outfit is very common to see if you look up "sexy nurse costume", and there are some similarities, but still, it is NOT one of those. I think a lot of people just seem to have a mindset of being on the lookout for anything, so that's the first thing they see even though that isn't even what Jennie was wearing! It was completely involved with the concept of those lyrics within a video talking about being alone and the desire to be loved. I cannot stand that it seems to be a trend to just hate on Blackpink now and have an issue with some aspect of every video. People unstanning just because they didn't want Selena in Ice Cream is disgusting as well. These girls are REAL with FEELINGS, and just because they are a group promoted by a company that owns everything within the media BP puts out, these girls are still doing what they do because they put their hearts and souls into it and want people to enjoy it and have fun with the music and feel emotion through the videos along with them. No matter how many walls people put up (which is horrible that they have to do that ANYWAY) to idiots reacting negatively just purely to start something, to some degree, this hurts people. I bet you none of these nurses/people angry at this issue even thought about how much it takes Jennie to go out into public with people bombarding her with "JENNIE HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT THE NURSE OUTFIT ISSUE?" (and yes I know the other girls obviously have to deal with this stuff too) So basically, they're not going to hurt the company if that's what they want, they're going to hurt these lovely young girls that are also working hard every single day that also just want to bring good things to people's lives. During COVID I have even more respect, but I still say during COVID, why the hell are you taking the time to complain about this and indirectly spread a different type of sickness to those who aren't sick? The only people that saw Jennie's outfit as sexual is you. Sorry that was long, I hope none of it was inappropriate. I very much respect the nurses/medical field workers and I do understand where they're coming from, so if any of it sounds like I'm disrespecting them that is absolutely not what I'm meaning. I'm not trying to be nasty towards what they do or their feelings, I'm just very angry about the outrage and hate that's being associated with Jennie because it's not appropriate and it's extremely unfair to her, and extremely unfair to _all_ of the girls. I care very deeply for the BP girls and yes I know it's mainstream to talk about them and the majority of this comment section is going to be about this scandal but I feel very hurt by this problem as well and I REALLY wanted to let out my feelings about it. But do forgive me if anything sounded too rude towards the nurses, I'm just really heated about all of this and trying to hurt anyone involved in this scandal is not my intention! EDIT (forgot about this!): I'm upset the scene was removed too, cuz that was one of my favorite scenes in the video, but I do appreciate them doing it to protect Jennie and I do appreciate that those in the healthcare profession have taken note of it and are showing support towards Blackpink. It's still sad it had to be taken out though! I'm thankful I at least got to see it within the video a few times before it was removed. And now this comment is even longer! If anybody managed to read through all of that, thank you! EDIT EDIT: I PAUSED THE VIDEO TO WRITE ALL THAT BEFORE I SAW OMG ITZY MADE A NEW THING I DIDN'T KNOW THAT

I just feel like the whole Jennie argument is extremely hypocritical it’s ok for men to show their abs in doctor and schoolboy outfits but as soon a girl groups does it it’s sexual objectification,, I respect the nurses who felt disrespected but also if a male group did it ppl would have been like “omg this looks so hot”

I feel like they edit the scenes so that the mv would get more coverage in media articles and people will watch the edited version.
