Hi, welcome to my totally legit news show! Today, we’re going to talk about the SuperM and BTS Grammy Feud that has taken over the internet, IZ*ONE’s comeback delay and theories as to why it might have been delayed & more!
Billboard recently released an article titled: Grammys First-Look: The Most-Likely Big Four Contenders. In this article, they go on to predict who they think has the best bet, a good chance or is within reach of winning either Album of the year, Record of the year, Song of the Year or Best new artist. And in a very controversial statement, they have said and I quote: SuperM has a chance of becoming the first K-pop group to be nominated in this category with its self-titled EP, which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. And it seems the internet is angry!

BTS fans should have no say in this since it's nothing related to them n it's bb not Grammy prediction...now, Coz superm is irrelevant since it's debut...so SM tried to mediaplay (by the help of Capitol since SM can't mediaplay the BB but Capitol can) in an article which doesn't mean anything but to get the attention of kpop fans n Armies for their already flop group (at this point every1 can tell they r flop up to this point since debut) so the controversies would bring at least some attention coz nothing is better than something either positive or negative... it's all politics n mediaplay in today's music companies especially big n old companies... it's a fact

just my opinion but bts deserves a grammy before any kpop group as they broke so many records and the only kpop group who went no.1 on billboard: artist 100 (11th week, the most for any group, the most weeksat no.1 in 2020 (6) , and 7th overall with most weeks at no.1) hot 100(first korean artist and first asian artist in 60+ years, topped no.1 for 3 weeks, top 5 for 8 weeks, topped no.1 & no.2 in the same time as the 5th group in history to do so) bb 200 (the fastest group since the beatles to get 4 no.1 in 2 years) and other billboard charts. I'm not saying other groups like superm and blackpink don't deserve, they deserve but if we look at the stats of the us, BTS is the strongest group going hard there so they deserve to be the first kpop to get nominee for the grammys as they are the only kpop group who dominate the us charts like that.

SM and BigHit r both equally strategic in advertising their groups, like u realize that Stay Gold literally came out on THE SAME DAY as Blackpink Comeback. I'm assuming that BangPD tried to shift attention, which isn't bad, but it's wut companies do to get the money. Same thing here with SM but on a bigger scale where theyre basically debuting an entire group composed of popular accomplished idols as a way to "strategically finnesse " and gain attention from the american directed part of kpop

Though usually any group's Japanese comebacks are never as hyped as their Korean comebacks, so I can't see how a company which is so good at marketing would think they'd achieve that. But who knows, it could very well be true. Big hit have mastered the art of capitalism and they never do anything without thinking it through. So it is suspicious that they chose to release the mv the same day as hylt. I agree with you about sm too. It's all business after all. However if only they'd have given this sort of marketing to exo... 🙁

dude, I mean given the amount of effort and sweatiness of Lee Soo Man has in tryna promote SuperM, I think they're credible. Like bruh I swear SM spends half their total budget on all groups per year included on SuperM. Like SM seems to rly care bout promoting in America. Plus they're also signed with Capital Records and they're get alot of priority as a Hybrid American Directed Like Kpop Group, and basically they got like several chick bonds with Billboard and Buzzfeed and stuff. Obv they hav priority, like Ik its unfair, but its jus SM being smart and giving priority to SuperM, I think BTS creates better music, but unfortunately, SuperM jus gets priority in the Kpop industry when the latter is directed towards and american audience

ya'll know bts deserves grammys, but grammys did dirty on them just for views and fame. didn't even get nominated after breaking like records of artists like MJ, Queen, Beatles, Celinen Dion, Justin Etc. like whatt- having meaningful lyrics, sychronized dances and choreographies, amazing vocals and rap. they just deserve it really hope they win "artist of the year 2021" "best album of 2020" cause they deserved it after all.. winning multiple awards in MTV Uk, Billboard etc

Black Swan and ON deserve a Grammy......those songs, the lyrics, the music, the vocal performance, the rap, the production. Everything is so good and i am so impressed by bts. I am someone who takes music seriously and I think one of these 2 atleast deserve a noms in soty at the Grammys.....with Blinding Lights and Physical and a lot of other songs. Let’s be real the songwriting on superm album is not quality tho the Grammys have lost their relevancy a long time ago.....

If anyone except bts win that Grammy I’m bringing pitchforks up to the people on the board of the Grammys. The reason also why people say Bts deserves it is because they have been FIGHTING for that Grammy and were the first to cross over on such a wide scale working their way from the fucking BOTTOM TO GET THAT AWARD (not saying others haven’t) Fight me but bts paved the way for any kpop group overseas in America (RIGHT NOW) no one has done it and had people actually get interested PSY crossed over but people only cared about him not his genre, if not for them no idol would be considered getting a Grammy , no one new about kpop on the scale it is known now in America before bts the average American just new the gangman style, they were robbed last year and if another group/artist wins this year no matter how old the members are it will be a slap in the face. From what I think, if BTS have had so much western recognition ever since 2017 (breaking records, collabs, numerous western performances, etc.) and haven't gotten a Grammy yet, I really don't see how SuperM can get one when they don't have as much recognition YET. (Don't come at me, it's just facts... let's be real they haven't really gotten that much recognition via internet or news.) The Grammys have always been so bias against boybands, so it's still really unfair anyways. However, BTS has gotten the opportunity to present there and also attend two of the shows before, and even being nominated too, so who knows? In the end, Kpop is Kpop. --- BTW... at 6:50 , I just want to define "paved the way" it means "someone doing something that makes it easier for other people to follow", which I technically think already happened in terms of Kpop being introduced worldwide.. but go off sis🤣

But it’s going to make kpop look like an even more a joke. It seems like if they win it’s because the grammy’s want to shut kpop fans up. A lot of celebrities already don’t take kpop seriously. If they win it’s not going to be seen as an accomplishment for Korea or even kpop fans as a whole because korean netizens and international netizens already acknowledge that kpop idols have really big fan bases. And then there’s the fact that none of them are rookie idols I mean If you want to count nct then yeah. They are idols with an established career. It’s just going to seem like a joke. But SM DID do something shady. They boosted their album sales in a legal, but very shady and unethical way. They, and YG too, have bought news coverage in the US for both SuperM and Blackpink. For me it's not about group vs. group. Grammys used BTS for clout, so did Billboard, and when BTS outsold ALL of the US favs they got completely shafted. SuperM did nowhere near the popularity, sales, etc. of BTS or some other Kpop groups. That's just facts (from someone who loves the SuperM boys).

I'm sorry but Super M is full of GREAT members although the group for me is just nothing special. I feel like Taemin and Kai are talents that shouldn't be in the same group. That being said, Super M is just so far one of the worst ones I'd seen. Like I'd rather see EXO or Taemin himself being nominated for Grammys, it'd make SO MUCH more sense.

I'm confused why people are getting so triggered because IF superm does win anything, it'll most likely be best new artist, and bts aren't even new artists. also one kpop group getting a Grammy doesn't naturally eliminate the chances of another kpop group getting one. Bts has been around years before superm, of course they won't get best new artist. I actually think Bts has a pretty good chance to win a Grammy but we'll have to see, if they don't then armies will riot, they've already been invited twice and they WERE nominated for a Grammy once (even if it's for their album design). I love SuperM and I'm also an army, and I wouldn't mind if either of them get one. (Also imo either Bts will get a Grammy, or they'll both get something in different categories, or neither of them will get one, Superm, although made up of seasoned idols are still a group that have debuted last year, and the Grammys are also rigged, they usually give awards to the artist in a way that will benefit the show, and in this case, BTS is both, more popular and more likely to win favours for the show)

And lets not forget that SuperM is only possible BECAUSE of SM's legacy throughout all the decades. No other company has enough groups with enough relevancy to make an entire new group by picking out ace members from each group. I admire sm for making an entire empire withing the music genre. My issue isn't with with SuperM getting nominated. My issue is that BTS doesn't get nominated. BTS has done so much for kpop and the music industry in general and I think it would be a shame if they didnt get nominated. I also think it wouldn't be fair if SuperM got nominated cuz this group was formed from members that already belonged to other groups so their publicity was bound to be big. Therefore, SuperM isn't entirely "new". So I dont have a problem with SuperM getting nominated, I have a problem with BTS not getting nominated. Like if you were able to nominate SuperM why the hell cant you nominate BTS. Especially after all the WORLDWIDE impact they had... (I'm only saying this if it actually happened. I don't understand why people are so mad about the whole grammy thing. I understand bts have worked their asses off to get recognized in the us but superm still deserve it if they get nominated. They are a group focused on promoting in the US and their debut was very anticipated and well done. Bts still deserve a grammy but that doesn't mean that other groups can't do something before them. as an army I have no problem with super m and I'm not angry at the fact that they ''might'' be getting a nomination and if they were to get a nomination I would be happy that kpop is FINALLY getting the recognition it deserves but as the tweet said what makes me angry is that the fact that its not BTS even if we put aside preference it would be ignorant to denied the MASSIVE impact that BTS have had on not only the kpop industry but the music industry as a whole they are the biggest boy band in the world right now and alot of people don't WANT to recognize that most of their favs wouldn't be nearly as big if it wasn't for BTS and that's coming from someone who discovered kpop because of big bang it makes me so sad to see BTS work soo hard and have such a HUGE impact to only be used for clout PS. no hate to you great video :)

BTS deserve so many grammys. There's no reason for them not to be nominated as they literally excel in everything. We all know that the grammys are run by racist, sexist, greedy hoes who only care about the hype and money. That's why they used BTS's image last year, they knew they weren't going to get the views and hype so they hopped on to the biggest bb. I'm not even trying to be mean but why are SuperM getting nominated what happened to Twice, Exo, and Blackpink for new artist. Why is superM getting nominated is still confusing to me they haven't done anything to be nominated. BTS shouldn't even be nominated for BNA they should be nominated for album of the year. I get that superm would be for new artist if they were to get a Grammy nom but like... I really didn’t see the impact they had in the U.S and it kind of felt like a cash grab from SM to me. Plus I’m sorry but if superm are qualified for best new artist, than bts were more than qualified for album of the year like?? No hate towards superm but it doesn’t make sense to me.

Grammy doesnt care about Kpop tbh, the GP also dont care about Kpop. Grammy is not a playground for Kpop artist. There are dozens of talented American Artists and also global artist like Dimash who deserves Grammy noms. I believe if BTS get their nominations is soley because their success in the western world is too big to be ignored. Their name are known not only to the music industry but beyond. It will be interesting to see what level of success are needed to get a Nom for non american artists especially from Asia, let alone win one. BTS has what it all, good music, everything but they dont even get their music aired on American radio stations. Why? They are 'insignificant' compared to american artist and perhaps they refuse to make some 'donations' to get their songs aired or the fact that they're from Asia. The hurtful fact is that the world idolises american artists. Radio stations in other countries have no issues playing songs by American artists. Big Bang won MTV, yeah but again it is just MTV and not Grammy, not even MTV America. Like it or not Grammys are known to be THE most prestigious music awards and not MTV. If you talk about other awards, yes I agree that groups like Bigbang, Blackpink have higher chance of winning. Now SuperM, Im sorry, I dont see how they deserve a western award at this point. I feel SuperM is a great stratergy to promote the individual groups under SM. If SM really promote EXO they will stand better chance of winning these awards. (Note, I dont name BTS because they already won BBMAs and few others). Kpop fans MUST remember that all these awards shows are going against successful American artists. And for the group to be successful they need to be known outside of the kpop community in America or other countries. If you ask me which group has potential to win American music awards in the future (except for Grammy) Blackpink and Bigbang (if they make a CB) NCT127, Monsta X.

It kinda bothers me that SuperM are (possibly) nominated though. Not because they don't deserve it. SHINee have deserved a Grammy for the past decade. Exo absolutely deserve a Grammy. NCT/WayV 100% deserve a Grammy. But SuperM??? Don't get me wrong, I LOVE their debut, but it's only when they have 70% of their song in English that they (might) get a Grammy???? I never even knew there was a feud with sm & bt^s. Personally, I understand why they mentioned sm in the new artists category because they are, indeed, new artists. I personally didn’t like jopping and didn’t listen to the album. (It’s bearable now, but not on my playlists). However, due to the already established fan base with the members already I can see why they got in this predictions. + i do think that bts deserve a Grammy but I’m not entirely sure if MOTS:7 will get the nomination or their upcoming album/ep in October. because MOTS:7 wasn’t directed for the any market and more towards us fans, kinda like a letter to us. so I think their next one will probs get the nomination because from what they were saying it’ll be a comforting album in reflection to being quarantined - and that may do extremely well (I mean, take a look at Ariana & jb’s song). But who knows? There might not even be a Grammys held because of the state of the world. We always have to take that into consideration. I just want army’s to stop getting into so much drama. Not everyone of course, but we should start acting more responsible when it comes to hate or feeling played like karmys. + about bp, i think this comeback is going to be an aiiyl pt.2, mixed with whistle. it might be good because i don’t think it is the title track. it is a single right? because their b-sides are often better than the title, i have average expectations (only average because I was disappointed with ktl). I just hope this song has a chorus and is balanced well with the vocals. I want more vocalist lines from rosé & jisoo, but I’m guessing they’ll just have the same pre-chorus and probably the bridge if they’ll lucky.

I feel like Super M is such a manufactured group. They didnt contribute anything to the kpop industry. There songs have no original meaning, they are just an average group. If they get nominated that would be a suprize. While on the other hand bts has contributed a lot to the kpop industry that no one else has dared to try or think of. They deserve a Grammy because they sell a lot of albums and because the talk about things that no other kpop artist talks about in there music. They are one of a kind.
